December 16, 2011 Choir "Dudaryk" participated in the opening ceremony of the Ukrainian Carpathian Christmas tree at St.Peter Square (Piazza San Pietro) in Vatican.
First of all we sang carols at the audience of Pope for the Ukrainian community in which Benedict the XVIth greeted everyone by the Ukrainian language and thanked for the wonderful gift that our land has made for Vatican. After an audience took place the official ceremony of inauguration of Ukrainian Christmas tree, which was attended by Catholic and Orthodox priests, government officials and many ordinary people who came from different corners of Ukraine and Italy. And the official lighting of the tree was done. An Ukrainian boy pressed a button launcher, and we performed the National Anthem of Ukraine together with the Vatican brass band. After the official part everyone was treated with Ukrainian Christmas meal, during which there was a concert performed by the creative teams that came from Ukraine. With our singing we completed this wonderful performance.
